How to choose a industrial camera/microscope camera (4) -Pixel depth

Pixel depth refers to the number of bits per pixel data, usually expressed in bits. Generally, the more bits per pixel, the stronger the ability to express image details, the richer and finer the grayscale value of this pixel, and the deeper the grayscale depth of the pixel, but at the same time, the larger the amount of data, the greater the image processing speed of the system, so it is also necessary to choose carefully.

Common ones are 8bit, 10bit, and 12bit. Resolution and pixel depth jointly determine the size of the image. For example, for 5 million pixels with a pixel depth of 8bit, the entire image should be 2560×2048×8/8/1024/1024=5MB.
